The Queen’s Award for Enterprise

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Sustainable Development) recognises businesses that have outstanding sustainable development practices that have helped to improve their commercial performance. J&G Environmental were delighted to earn this prestigious award and were the first company in our sector to achieve this recognition of excellence.

The Environmental Protection Act 1990 introduced measures to reduce and control emissions to air, land and water from specific industrial processes. A PPC licence is issued jointly by the Environment Agency and local authority and is a requirement for certain types of waste treatment and disposal.

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation scheme that aims to improve fleet activity throughout the UK and beyond. It recognises fleet operations which comply with the requirements of the FORS standard, based upon lawfulness, safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.
