JeeGee Recycled Animal Bedding
Turning discarded material into quality animal bedding
JeeGee animal bedding is virtually dust-free, more absorbent and cheaper than traditional animal bedding and is completely biodegradable. We transform thousands of tons of discarded cardboard and egg boxes we collect from all over the UK into environmentally friendly animal bedding that is compostable. Because animals need quality sleep too!
Great for the Environment
JeeGee Bedding is a great alternative to traditional animal bedding like straw or wood shavings. Our egg tray bedding is designed specifically for horses whilst the cardboard bedding can be used for all animals. As it is made from a renewable source, it helps to conserve precious raw materials, and breaks down more quickly than other materials. That means a reduction in the size of muckheaps and because JeeGee Bedding is 100% biodegradable it is easily composted.
Great for your Animals
JeeGee Bedding has lots of benefits for your animals. It is comfortable, clean, warm, highly absorbent and virtually odourless, and because our bedding is virtually free of dust, mould seed and spores it’s a healthier alternative for animals with allergies or those suffering from respiratory or inflammatory airway diseases. JeeGee Bedding is ideal for stables and equestrian centres as well as the game and poultry rearing industries and for use with agricultural livestock.
Great for People
Traditional animal bedding materials can cause problems for allergy-suffering animal handlers too. Using our recycled cardboard and egg box bedding means a cleaner environment in which to work, with much lower concentrations of dust and other irritants. JeeGee Bedding helps eliminate strong odours and is also easy to handle, with none of the usual vigorous shaking out associated with other materials like straw.
Cost Effective Too!
JeeGee Bedding has the additional benefit of being really good value and could reduce your stabling costs. Wastage is reduced and mucking out is much quicker by just removing the wet bottom layer and topping up the bedding. Each 20kg bale is sealed in plastic so it can be easily stored outside if necessary. J&G manufacture JeeGee Bedding at our ISO 14001 environmentally-approved headquarters in Dorset.
Benefits of JeeGee Animal Bedding
What are people saying about JeeGee Animal Bedding?
What an amazing bed it makes, and light/easy to bank. I’m so excited! Best bit is it doesn’t stick to anything!
First muck out and I’m very impressed so far, only took 5 minutes.
I have just place another order for your wonderful egg box bedding, definitely the best bedding out there.
Cannot believe I’ve struggled on with shavings beds for this long! Absolutely love your egg box bedding. It doesn’t smell at all, stays in place and was so so easy to muck out this morning. My bedding was delivered the morning after I had ordered. Thank you for such a speedy service. Brilliant!
I use both the cardboard and egg box bedding for comfort and ease of mucking out. The boys love it because they get nice big comfy beds. The drainage is good, the dust level is very low and it is also warmer than standard shaving beds so great in the winter.
After a very hard frost locally last week, one of my little ponies went down with Laminitis – just to prove it’s not just a Summer thing! Never had it before, just sheer bad luck. I have my other horses on JeeGee, so took her off straw and bedded her up. It has proved yet again to be brilliant. It packed into her little feet and helped raise her heels, making her more comfortable. After a week being in, thank goodness she is almost back to normal. Even being in 24/7, she has stayed cleaner than when she was on straw. So please… add to the description, that JeeGee is (very) suitable for Laminitic Horses and Ponies! Thanks JeeGee!
I have gotten on sooo well with the egg box and cardboard bedding. The egg box gives such a lovely fluffy bed, doesn’t fly away in wind, doesn’t stick to clothing or horses tails, looks so clean, keeps the horse clean. It’s fine for respiratory problems, light weight and super quick to muck out as it changes to a clear darker shade once sodden, stops ammonia and is recycled!
We currently have two Shetlands on the bedding and will have 3 horses over October half term. The bedding is easy to spread out, very absorbent. There is no wee draining all over the yard now. There is no urine smell like before with shavings. The ponies are not eating it but do spread it about. It is efficient so we do not need to use as much as shavings. The ponies are happy to lie down for a sleep.
Well now I’ve been using it for a few days I am a complete convert! So absorbent – I am taking out less than 3/4 barrow load per day which is amazing for my wet filthy gelding (used to be 2 on shavings!). When lifting his bed there are hardly any wet patches on the mats below as it’s all been absorbed, and what wet bedding there is, is really easy to lift out as it clumps. There is no smell, makes a lovely bed and is super quick to muck out. Bonus is that it also doesn’t stick to everything. It’s already in a further two stables other than mine as people have wanted to try it and they love it also, so next order will be sooner rather than later!
I’ve found the egg tray bedding is great, it’s really easy and light to work with, breaks open from the bale easily and you can just spread it about with your foot, and it’s really absorbent too!
We like the new egg box bedding very much. More absorbent, compresses well into a firm bed when used as deep litter. Same dust free qualities.
I have tried many different types of bedding this year, from equinola to cardboard, as I have a particularly wet pony. I have to say that the cardboard is the easiest to muck out and I preferred it to anything.
