The Polestar Group has renewed its waste management contract with print industry waste specialists J&G Environmental. The new three year contract means J&G will continue to collect and process all general print waste, including litho plates and used chemicals, from seven Polestar sites in the UK.
The two organisations have been working together for over 12 years and the newly signed contract is a reflection of J&G’s commitment to providing Polestar, Europe’s largest independent print company, with the highest possible level of service.
J&G general manager John Haines said: “Minimising environmental impact is very important to Polestar and our record of reducing the amount of waste going to landfill by constantly increasing the volume of waste we recycle was an important factor leading to the contract renewal”.
Blandford-based J&G, which handles waste for thousands of UK general printers and newspaper groups, now collects around 150 different sorts of printing waste and the company’s on-going development programme enables around 95 per cent of it to be recycled.
